Automation Guide Terms & Disclaimer
Version 2026-11-03 · Effective November 3, 2026 · [Coconuts LLC]
The short version
- The Automation Guide is education about software and APIs: how exchange APIs, fees, limits, risk controls and kill switches work.
- It is not trading advice, not a recommendation to trade any contract, and makes no performance claims.
- Any example code is illustrative, provided as-is, with no warranty. You run it at your own risk.
- You are responsible for your own exchange accounts, API keys, following each exchange's rules, any losses, and your taxes.
- Trading event contracts involves a substantial risk of loss.
1. What the guide is
The Coconuts Automation Guide ("Guide") is general educational material about how software can interact with the public APIs of event-contract exchanges and prediction markets (for example Kalshi, Polymarket US and Novig). It covers concepts such as authentication, order types, fees, rate limits, position and loss limits, monitoring and kill switches. It is published for a general audience and is the same for every reader.
2. Not advice; no recommendations; no performance claims
The Guide is not trading, investment, financial, tax or legal advice. It does not recommend buying or selling any contract, market or strategy, and it is not tailored to you. It contains no claims about performance, returns or results, and nothing in it suggests that any approach will make money. Examples, numbers and screenshots are illustrative only.
3. Example code: as-is, no warranty
Any code, pseudo-code or configuration in the Guide is illustrative, provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, and may contain errors or become outdated when an exchange changes its API or rules. Test anything in a sandbox or with small amounts first. You alone are responsible for any software you run and for what it does with your accounts.
4. Your responsibilities
- Opening and operating your own exchange accounts, and keeping your API keys secret and secure.
- Reading and following each exchange's terms, API rules, rate limits and eligibility requirements, and the laws where you live.
- Every order your software places, and every loss.
- Your taxes and record-keeping.
5. Risk warning
Trading event contracts involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Automated trading adds risks of its own: software bugs, connectivity failures, stale data, unexpected fills, duplicate orders and exchange outages can cause losses quickly. Only risk money you can afford to lose.
6. License and purchase
The Guide costs $39 one-time and is included free with an active Coconuts Pro annual plan. You get a personal, non-transferable license to read and use it for your own education. Don't copy it for others, redistribute, resell or publish it. Refunds follow section 10 of the Terms of Service. These Guide terms are part of the Terms of Service, including the disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability and dispute-resolution sections.
7. No affiliation
Coconuts is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any exchange, prediction market or sportsbook named in the Guide. Their names are used only to identify them.
